In order to become one of the major actors in the rabbit industry in Brittany, Cecab and Sanders Bretagne decided to create Celtalliance on the 1st April 2008 by merging their Rabbit breeder cooperatives (Cecab and Gaelap cooperative).
Celtalliance embodies:
- 130 breeders,
- 3.5 million of rabbits per year,
- 27 000 tons of rabbit feed.
Celtalliance is organised around two structures:
- The breeder’s cooperative Celtalliance Producteurs cunicoles (Celtalliance rabbit breeders).
- The management company Celtalliance Services lapins (Celtalliance rabbit services) that ensure technical, veterinary and quality supervision as well as the marketing of rabbit feed.
The main objectives of Celtalliance are:
- to constitute a major centre of rabbit production in
Brittany
and the west of
France

- to strengthen and sustain breeders production,
- to create added value for breeders,
- to restore the image of the Rabbit Industry in
Brittany
and the west of
France
.
