  Industrial vegetables

In 2007, the 1,550 vegetable producers which are members of the Cecab's Groupe Conserve produced 294,000 tonnes of vegetables from 25,100 hectares of cultivated land under contract.
The manufacturing sites and growers work closely to ensure control of the food chain.

Production schedules are drawn up to organise production :
  • plant manufacturing programme
  • sowing area
  • organisation of seeding per branch with breakdown of areas and seeding dates
  • cultivation process
  • harvesting and delivery to factories
Upstream traceability is ensured by different sheets filled in by growers which are bound by cultivation contracts to ensure compliance :
  • a seeding data sheet
  • an area confirmation sheet
  • a data sheet for each vegetable, describing solutions to problems likely to arise at different stages of production
  • a "recommendations" sheet and a "parcel follow-up" sheet.
In all areas of production, specialised technicians draw up harvesting programmes by visiting all parcels in order to determine the optimal harvesting dates for the best quality vegetable production and processing.
